Yes, There’s a New St. Patrick’s Day-Themed ‘Masked Singer’ on Tonight

By | April 24, 2021

Yep, your best friend/mortal enemy Masked Singer is on tonight with a special TWO-HOUR EPISODE featuring TWO ELIMINATIONS! If you had other plans (lol, what are those?), go ahead and cancel them so you don’t miss a minute of what is sure to be a wild nightmare-inducing, possibly traumatizing ride.

Tonight’s episode is called “Super 8 – The Plot Chickens” because the team at FOX will never miss a single word-play opportunity, bless ’em. Last week, we met the alleged final wild card character of the season, which means that tonight, we’ll watch the Chameleon, Russian Dolls, Crab, Piglet, Robopine, Black Swan, Seashell, and, yes, the Yeti perform. Gird your loins and direct your thoughts and prayers over to the poor celebrities trapped beneath all that synthetic fiber!

And in case you’re desperate to know what’s in store for the rest of season 5, read on:

If there’s one thing we can rely on in this cruel, uncertain world, it’s that The Masked Singer airs every Wednesday night at the same time. Tonight’s episode “Super 8 – The Plot Chickens” airs at 8/7c on FOX, but as I mentioned already, it’ll be a special two-hour episode with ~double eliminations~ going down. Nicole Scherzinger’s heartstrings WILL. BE. PULLED.

So, How Many Episodes Are Left?

The Masked Singer is pretty secretive about how many episodes will air in any given season, but it looks like season 5 could be wrapping up pretty soon. I mean, there are only eight contestants left and tonight we’re losing two! The end must be near, right? I’M NOT READY! Who knows, though, as it looks like there are at least two more episodes left, according to the experts at Wikipedia. To review, here’s what season 5 looks like (tentatively!!):

Reminder: Here’s Who’s Left

If you’d like to brush up on the fan theories for all the remaining characters, I salute you. Go forth:

Is There Gonna Be a Group C?

TBD on that, but last season, we did eventually meet Group C in episode 5, which was called “The Group C Premiere – Masked but Not Least.” So prepare to *potentially* meet season 5’s Group C later this season!

HOWEVER! It’s also possible that the “wild card” contestants are entirely replacing the Group C concept. And it seems like we’ve met all of them at this point. So yeah. Maybe don’t hold your breath!

Who’s Been Unmasked So Far This Season?

Lots of people! Grandpa Monster, the Raccoon, the Snail, the Phoenix, the Orca, and the Bulldog (hi, Nick Cannon).

In case you reaaally want to stroll down memory lane, here’s a list of all the celebrities who have participated in this cursed show since its inception.

Unfortunately, we still don’t know! Obviously, the theory that Nick Cannon was this monstrosity/rooster was wrong (my apologies), so my money’s on Wayne Brady for now. Maybe we’ll find out tonight!
